Wildcat Weekend

Wildcat Weekend, celebrated annually in October, is an extraordinary Rye Country Day tradition. This event combines three major events into one memorable day. For the students, this is their traditional homecoming weekend, so athletic contests abound for RCDS alumni and families to enjoy. Wildcat Weekend is also home to our Alumni Reunion celebrations. There is a welcome tent set up on our fields to greet alumni where they can register, have some refreshments, and take tours of our new campus with current RCDS students. Perhaps the highlight of Wildcat Weekend is Fall Fair, which is a carnival event organized by our Upper School students for the young children of RCDS and local community. The RCDS athletic center fills up with rides, games, and activities for younger children to enjoy.  Abundant music, food, and face painting make this a most memorable and festive event.

Festival Chorus Concert

Started in 1995, this community chorus combines student voices from the Upper School Concert Choir with an adult choir of RCDS community members, including current and past parents, alumni, faculty and staff, and friends. Rye Country Day School’s 2012 Festival Chorus concert, entitled I'll Fly Away, took place on Sunday, January 29th, to a packed house SUNY Purchase.  See a slideshow of photos from the performance.

Community Weekend: Arts Festival and International Fair

Community Weekend is a combination of the Arts Festival and the International Fair, bringing together the arts, diversity, and global sustainability. The RCDS community and its community partners gather annually for a street-fair, party scene that is a blast for children and adults of all ages. The delicious "International Tastings," hosted by the Auxiliary and Parents Committed to Diversity, offers free cuisine from countries all over the world that is prepared by members of the community and local restaurants. Hands-on activities sponsored by the Fine Arts department, student clubs, and local artists from diverse backgrounds keep little hands and minds engaged. To top it all off, student performances on center stage celebrating music, dance, and drama keep everyone's spirits soaring.
