Financial Aid
Rye Country Day is eager to encourage qualified students to apply to the School. This year, RCDS has granted approximately $3.9 million in financial aid to 131 students. When financial aid is necessary, the School will make every effort to be helpful. Financial aid funds come directly from the resources of the School, and the total financial aid that can be granted by the School in any single year is a limited amount.
The Rye Country Day School financial aid program is a need-based program; financial aid awards are based on the demonstrated financial need of the family. Additionally, the academic, extracurricular, and citizenship records of an applicant are reviewed. Financial need is established through the filing of the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) with the School and Student Service (SSS) for Financial Aid (and, in the case of divorced or separated parents, an equivalent form from the non-custodial parent), and submission to RCDS of the IRS Form 1040 from the previous year. Necessary forms must be submitted by December 15. Financial aid awards will accompany admissions acceptance letters if the applying family qualifies for tuition support. The financial aid budget for new students is usually committed in full by the end of February; later applications for financial aid will be considered if funds are available.
