On Campus
Rye Country Day School is a lively, engaging, and evolving community. Although comprised of three divisions with three different tones, the entire campus shares a sense of warmth, academic challenge, and a commitment to improvement. RCDS has struck a special balance between being both a rigorous and nurturing place. On the one hand, RCDS has extremely high standards for its students, but the School also recognizes that there can be individual challenges and pathways to meeting these standards. RCDS is a school that stands for diversity in all of its forms. Our students come from 35 school districts, and over 20% of our students are people of color. Last year 104 RCDS students received financial aid, and our children bring a remarkable array of passions and talents to the school. Independent thinkers thrive at RCDS, and our graduates emerge with a shared commitment to excellence but not always the same passions or interests.
If you are looking for a place for you son or daughter where they can truly connect with remarkable students and adults in a healthy, invigorating learning environment, then we encourage you to give our Admissions Office a call. Many aspects of independent day schools feel similar (small classes, well-rounded offerings, strong academic standards, etc.), but the cultures of these schools are in fact quite different. By coming to visit campus for a tour or by visiting classes for a day, you can begin to discern whether or not the culture of RCDS feels like the best match for you and your family.
